Additional Awards

In addition to rank requirements, there are several other award categories that cub scouts are eligible for. Below are optional awards and patches that your scout can earn working from home. Please let your den leader know if you are working on any of these so that they can assist you if needed.

The recruiter patch recognizes Cub Scouts who recruit a friend to join the pack. It is awarded after their friend completes all of the registration steps and should be worn on the bottom left pocket of the uniform.

The interpreter strip informs others that you can communicate in a foreign language, American sign language, or Morse code. Scouts must be able to have a 5 minute conversation, translate a 2 min speech, write a letter in the language (not ASL), and translate 200 words from a written text. This award is currently available for ASL, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Arabic, Japanese, Cantonese, Portuguese, Deutsch, Russian, Dutch, Simple Mandarin, Español, Traditional Mandarin, Francais, Vietnamese

Most religions have programs to recognize Cub Scouts who demonstrate faith, observe their creeds or principles, and give service. If your scout would like to earn this award please speak with your den leader for next steps. When earned the universal religious square knot is worn over the left shirt pocket of the Scout uniform. The religious medallion is pinned over the square knot for full uniform occasions.
